Composites based on Polyamide-6 with graphite and boron carbide were synthesized in an one step process, via activated anionic polymerization of e-caprolactam. Possible application of the composites as radiation protective materials was investigated by evaluating the absorption of thermal and fast neutrons. Based on the relationship between mechanical properties and fillers content, determined by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, optimum ratios between the components were proposed. Composites structures were observed by scanning electronic microscopy.
